South Dakota State University Cereal Grain Research Program - Seed Technology Laboratory
| | | Phone: | (605) 610-1026 | Year Established: | 2011 | Main Contact: | Padmanaban Krishnan | | Company Description | The Crop Quality Laboratory or CQL will help with the investigation of the quality of food crops in relation to health, disease prevention, and economic development. Timely research information will enable wheat breeders to develop new varieties to meet the needs of the U.S. and export markets. The improved facilities give plant science researchers an enhanced ability to study the fundamental traits of cerealgrains and oilseeds and to exploit these traits to enhance their economic value. The new lab will be easily accessible to private enterprise, grower organizations, and entrepreneurs in the state, and the new facility should streamline the processes of examining and working with plan samples. A world-class facility like this will continue to bring more industry projects to help share the cost and resources for finding data as
well as maintaining the facility. | |
